About Us

Many of our citizens are just one monetary set-back from financial disaster.

A job loss, health emergency, or legal trouble can be enough for our community members to find themselves without proper resources. With this in mind we focus on increasing opportunities for all citizens of Blue Hill, Brooklin, Brooksville, Castine, Deer Isle, Orland, Penobscot, Sedgwick, Stonington, and Surry.

We understand...

Addressing the needs of children as early as possible is critical for a vibrant development. We recently created a pilot home visitation program and parent "resource open houses" for all parents of newborns on Deer Isle-Stonington. This pilot program will be a learning opportunity and we hope to expand this program to include other peninsula towns.

We Partner with...

We have strong collaborative partnerships with Downeast Community Partners, H.O.M.E., Healthy Peninsula, Healthy Acadia, Friends in Action, local elementary schools, and several local churches. We work together to serve those in need.

Why we are different...

We use Neighborhood Navigators to serve those in need of services and link them with available resources. Our Navigators understand the life of poverty and are able to build trusting relationships while at the same time, through training, are aware of key local resources to refer neighbors.
